Dear West Michigan Power Member,
It has been decided that West Michigan Power dues be voluntary with the following rules and structure:
Dues are $25.00 per quarter payable by the first day of the quarter:
January 1 ($25.00 -- we will extend this deadline to January 14th since it will be the first time we've collected dues)
April 1 ($25.00)
July 1 ($25.00)
Oct 1 ($25.00)
Money from dues will only go to help members with expenses etc IF-AND-ONLY-IF that member has been in good standing for 2 quarters (6 months). To be a member in 'Good Standing' the member must have paid dues for the prior 6 months AND the dues each quarter must not have been more than 2 weeks late. If the person was more than two weeks late they would not be eligible to receive funds for meet expenses until they paid on time for the next quarter. This would keep people from paying dues shortly before they wanted money from the team fund.
So for example if we enter a team in Lansing; the team entry fee for a WABDL meet is $90.00. All members in good standing would not have to pay the $15.00 individual fee, or pay a reduced fee to be on the team. Those members who are not in good standing can still compete with the team, however they would have to pay the full $15.00 each to compete with the team. If we collected more money than the WABDL entry fee cost it would go into the team account.
If we have a team barbeque or a team dinner at a restaurant team members in good standing would not have to pay anything for food and drink, or at least would not have to pay as much to attend as a member that is NOT in good standing.
Only members in good standing can vote on things. For example say we wanted to use team funds to rent a van to go to the Dells. Only team members in good standing have a vote, AND if a member not in good standing rides in the van they will have to pay a fee.
Please send Venessa a private message via the forum with your phone number and email address as she will need it to collect dues and disseminate team information.
Due payments should be mailed to Venessa... not given to someone to give to someone else to give to Venessa. This way there is only one person involved and that is the secretary. |
